For many years the “Emerald Coast” of Florida has been a popular tourist destination but during the past decade residential construction has skyrocketed. Anderson Engineers, P.A. has provided the structural design for hundreds of homes in this area in the communities of Seaside, Watercolor, Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, Watersound, and many others. As “post Katrina” building continues along the entire Gulf Coast, we have also undertaken numerous projects in Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Designing homes to withstand wind velocities of up to 160 miles per hour requires a special understanding of high-pressure lateral loads and Coastal building codes.
